Hōkūle‘a homecoming and Father’s Day weekend
The Equus Hotel offers a special room rate for those who wish to welcome home the Hōkūle‘a when it returns to Hawai‘i after a three-year, round-the-world voyage.
Special rates will be offered from June 15 to June 20
The iconic voyaging canoe is scheduled to return from the Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage to the Hawaiian Islands on Saturday, June 17 with a historic arrival at O‘ahu’s Magic Island, a 10-minute walk from the Equus Hotel.
Join thousands of enthusiastic supporters, families, educators, ocean conservationists, residents and visitors as the canoe arrives at 8:30 a.m. At 10:00 a.m. an arrival ceremony and program will ensue; and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. a traditional Hawaiian ho‘olaule‘a (celebration party) will take place.
Enjoy a convenient walk to the arrival site with your car safely parked at the Equus, and join the thousands who are expected to be assembled to celebrate this historic event.
And remember that Sunday, June 18 is Father’s Day, so spend an extra night and treat dad to a Waikiki stay-cation.
